Copyright (DMCA) Policy

PDR BOX · Last updated October 22, 2026

People using PDR BOX upload photos, videos and receipts of their own work. We respect copyright and expect everyone using PDR BOX to do the same: upload only what you took yourself or have the right to use. This page explains how to tell us about material you believe infringes your copyright, under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”), and what happens next.

Uploads in PDR BOX are private: only the people in the uploader's company (or, for receipts, only the uploader) can see them. They aren't published on the web.

1. Reporting infringement

Send a written notice to our copyright agent (section 5) that includes:

  • your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is enough by email);
  • what copyrighted work you believe was infringed (or, for several works, a representative list);
  • where the material is, in enough detail for us to find it — for example the company, job or estimate, and a description of the photo or video, or a link or screenshot;
  • your name, mailing address, phone number and email;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and
  • a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for them.

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material infringes may be liable for damages. If you're not sure, consider asking a lawyer first.

2. What we do

When we get a complete notice, we act quickly to remove or disable access to the material, and we tell the person who uploaded it (and their company's owner) that we did and why, with a copy of the notice. We may leave out your personal contact details where the law allows.

3. Counter-notice

If you believe your material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you can send our copyright agent a counter-notice that includes:

  • your physical or electronic signature;
  • what was removed and where it was before;
  • a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification;
  • your name, address and phone number; and
  • a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you're outside the United States, any district where we may be found), and that you'll accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or their agent.

We'll send the counter-notice to the person who filed the original notice. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they've filed a court action to stop the infringement, we'll put the material back 10 to 14 business days after we got your counter-notice.

4. Repeat infringers

We suspend or close the accounts of people who, in appropriate circumstances, repeatedly infringe others' copyrights.
